Do you play a mean game of golf (or do you just wish you did)? You may have your own favorite fairway, of course, but one of the great places to try playing your game in a new setting is in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Myrtle Beach, known as the "golf city of the world," has miles and miles of lush green fairway for you to try your hand on.

The Myrtle Beach area has about 120 different golf courses within about a 60-mile spread. Myrtle Beach boasts both golf courses and great beach areas. In fact, if you visit Myrtle Beach, you'll be one of at least 14 million individuals in a given year who visit the area. Those who are golf enthusiasts say that the greens and courses are challenging and can be a great learning experience if you play the game. Architects have designed and landscaped the layouts of the various golf courses in Myrtle Beach to be beautiful as well as functional. Tournaments, too, are played in Myrtle Beach at one of its many beautiful golf courses. There are also golfing exhibitions for charity held here.

One recent study concluded that Myrtle Beach was among the top golf course meccas. It's gotten five out of five stars, not surprising when you consider that it very clearly caters to the golf world.

If you're still not certain, look for testimonials online from those who have played at Myrtle Beach's golf courses. You can see for yourself just how wonderful they are before you actually take the time to go there and play yourself. If golf isn't your thing (or if you've already played a great game and want to do something else), Myrtle Beach has many attractions that are family oriented, too. These are conveniently located around the courses so that you don't have to go far. Watch the boats on the water, surf, or just sunbathe on the beach. Of course, the fun doesn't stop there, and there are many more things you can do at Myrtle Beach, too.

In addition, Myrtle Beach has something for everyone in its dining experiences, attractions, and shops. If you decide to vacation here, you won't be disappointed. Your visit will give you fond memories for years to come.

Myrtle Beach also has a flair for resort and hotel living, as evidenced by the many fine accommodations available. If you bring your family to Myrtle Beach, kids, too, can find something to do. There are attractions that are suitable for the whole family, not just for grown-ups or for those who love to golf.

If you'd like to come to Myrtle Beach, contact a travel agency in your area or surf the web to take a look at many of the package deals available. Some websites or package deals are geared more for golf lovers, while others appeal to a broader audience. Myrtle Beach also has many places available so that you can rent or buy golf equipment here if you don't bring your own.

Of course, it has a definite attraction to golfers, but Myrtle Beach is also host to many events for those who don't golf, too. It has beautiful scenery, posh accommodations, and many events that attract visitors worldwide. This is true whether they love to golf or would prefer to do something else. So give Myrtle Beach a try, and see for yourself.

There must be a zillion ways to improve your golf score but I noticed a few things all good golfers do but bad golfers seldom do.

So many people buy new golf gear year after year, but they soon realize that it doesn't help much no matter how many times they change their driver!

The more educated believe that having a great swing is key to a low score. They usually laugh at the people that buy equipment, but these golfers spend money on lessons, practicing, practicing and practicing.

The ultra addicted always practice their short game. It might be the best method but it's ultra hard to do because it takes so much time! Practice, hitting ball after ball after ball will become routine if you fall under this category.

Check these tips because these are very simple to implement.

1. Glove - Changing your gloves as much as you can afford to is essential for a good game. Once it starts slipping, then bye bye good ball striking.

2. Spikes - Once you get new spikes, you will see that it is a no-brainer because you no longer slip and lose your balance when you swing. This is especially important during the course where you are on uneven lies!

3. Tees - When I hit my tee shots, I want the ball to hit the sweet spot of the club face every time. Having the same tee height is the only way I can do this (apart from having a repeatable swing).

4. Hydration - In the early days of my golfing career, I would play well and then lose the edge towards the end of the round. After a while of this frustration, I read somewhere that keeping myself hydrated will help me sustain my energy and focus. This means drinking water, Gatorade or some type of liquids throughout the round. Nowadays, it wouldn't be uncommon for me to drink 2-3 bottles of water during an 18-hole round. 4-6 strokes saved

5. Warm up - I still don't spend enough time on warm up but I noticed that sometimes it takes me 1-2 holes just to get relaxed and able to swing freely. This is all due to not having enough warm up. Warming up also helps relaxes your mind and enables you to make adjustments to compensate for the way balls are flying. More importantly, warming up reduces injuries! 1-3 strokes saved

6. Eat Light - Heavy eating is a no-no on the course. You end up losing focus after a big meal so it's hard to pick and execute the right shots. Eating something light is great for your score.

A proper golf swing is the cornerstone to having a great golf game. The best way to improve your swing is to practice with one of the popular training aids that are available. They assist you in implementing proper form so that you are reinforcing the correct technique.

Hard work and constant practice are absolutely necessary for those of us who are not born with natural golf ability. Fortunately with relentless practice you can improve to the point you want to. You just need to persevere and not give up before you have given yourself a chance to succeed.

No two golf swing training aids are designed exactly alike. They are all constructed differently to target varying components of the swing. Be it a DVD or a practice club your swing will be worked on in a unique manner for ultimate improvement.

As not all training aids are created equal, neither is the method by which the seek to improve your swing. Some will give immediate feedback on what went wrong while others are not instant. Regardless they all aim to identify your problem and advise you of the proper technique to use instead.

It is difficult to evaluate your swing as your are swinging. For this reason, many people will set up a video camera and fill their technique. Then they can critique it later and fine tune the process to weed out any weak areas.

Don't disregard the value of taking a few golf lessons. While they do cost a bit, the investment in your swing is worth it. A live instructor can help you to make sweeping changes to things that you don't even realize you may be doing wrong. How else can you identify and fix these problems?

Unless you were born with the name Tiger Woods, your golf ability is probably short of what you desire. This is why golf swing training aids were created. Evaluate what it is you want to improve and then measure that against what the various products offer. Once you match up complimentary purposes you will be on your way to achieving your goals. See you on the links.

Golfers beginners to professionals are constantly looking to get better at the game of golf. And it goes without saying that one of the core cores to great golf is a great swing. A careful analysis of how you swing your club can make significant adjustments to your game. Eradicati what you are doing wrong and improving what you are doing right will create significant and cumulative shave strokes offments.

There are certain fundamental elements to the swing that even the pros often take for granted. As you peruse this article you'll find these tips will make measurable if sometimes modest shave strokes offments that accumulate to lowering your score.

Let's start with your stance. The chief thing you want to do is to make sure that you are steady yet relaxed. If your posture is uptight and rigid, then there is an increased chance that your swing won't arc and follow through the way you want it to.

After you are in a comfortable and relaxed position with your club securely gripped, you'll also want to make sure that your feet are solidly planted about a shoulder's width apart. A lot of golfers are tempted to raise their heels up when they swing, but this leads to a poor swing. If you are lifting your heels up while you swing, this tends to alter your center of gravity and negatively impacts the velocity of your swing. It is now obvious, your posture is one of the most important aspects here.

To gain consistency in you swing, your must practice regularly. Even if you are a person who only golfs a couple times a month, it's still important to practice. Even when you are just golfing for fun, it's even more fun when you do better. You won't be able to see any real results unless you dedicate a portion of your time to mastering your swing. You should feel confident in whichever one you choose.

One of the big obstacles that golfers who live in the upper (cold) half of the United States face is the inability to play golf during the snow and cold of winter. However, in many of these areas, homes are built with basements that if they have a high enough ceiling can be a great place to set up practice golf balls and net, a golf mat which will allow you to swing away.

Another great alternative is to use a golf simulator. These can dramatically shave strokes off your swing as they provide feedback you need to make the small but impactful changes to get better. And the great thing is that these golf simulators are now quite inexpensive and can hook up to a simple laptop. Find simulators and other great golf equipment at many online golf stores.

Finally, if it's your spouse who golfs, don't forget that a good video on swing improvement, a practice net or golf simulator all make gifts for golfers which he (or she) will love for years to come.

If you like hitting a little white ball around in the grass, then this is your magazine. Chock full of info such as equipment reviews, instructional articles, tour news, golf-course ratings, as well as good photography, this is arguably the best of the best when it comes to golfing magazines.Lower your scores with the world's most widely read golf publication. Only Golf Digest brings you exclusive instruction and interviews from world-class players like Price, Els, Watson, Alcott and Woods. Plus, you'll find the latest golfing equipment, tips for improving your technique, and news from the golf world. Golfers share many things in common and one of these is an often fanatical love for the game. For these types, nothing can take the place of heading to the nearest golf course, but Golf Digest comes very close. This magazine contains over 200 pages each month, dedicated exclusively to the sport of golf. Each issue usually contains a variety of articles and/or features with respect to golf instruction. Unlike many other magazines, Golf Digest offers sound practical advice from accomplished professionals. In fact, Golf Digest enlists a number of PGA pros as playing editors including pretty every big name in golf (yes, that does include Tiger. You can usually count on Tiger's face gracing at least a dozen pages of each issue, believe it or not). One of my favorite things that Golf Digest does is break down pro player's swings frame by frame (whether it be Duval, Garcia, Lehman, or whoever) to catch their positions at each point in the swing.

It's extremely helpful (although often depressing) to see where the pros are at different points in their swing and compare it to your own swing. The things that set Golf Digest apart from the competition are the numerous articles about learning and improving your game and the personal stories and interviews. Other golfing publications attempt to help you learn, but they often get too mechanical. Golf Digest shows you how to improve your game with tips from professionals, including some of the star- studded members of the golfing elite like Tiger Woods. Besides all the tips and tricks, Golf Digest also shows the personal side of the sport with interviews and more intimate stories about the many colorful personalities in the game. This personal dimension adds greatly to the magazine's overall appeal, providing great reading material to complement the more instructional side of the magazine. Advertisements cover about 55 percent of the pages in each issue of Golf Digest. Besides the obvious, like golf clubs, golf balls, and golf apparel, the advertising focuses on other things that people who play golf like to purchase and indulge in, like liquor, cars, credit cards, brokerage firms, and travel services. The ads are found throughout the magazine, but they don't interfere with the enjoyment of each issue like they do in some magazines. Golfing Digest may not be as great as a day spent on your favorite golf course, but it comes close. I consider it the best publication of its kind and I recommend it to anyone with an interest in the game. Golf Digest is indeed a magazine for any golfer out there, ranging from the die-hard weekender to the driving range fiend. At a reasonable price of subscription when compared to other sports magazines, Golf Digest simply offers a combination of great articles, pictures, and features for golfers handicapped scratch to infinity. When buying a gift for someone there are always a number of things to consider especially if you're aiming to make is a priceless gift. If you're buying for a female golfer this holiday season then you should be aware that the current trend is shifting away from conventional golf clothing and moving to outfits which provide a full fashion statement on the course.

For centuries, most of the golf wear designs for women have been based around traditional men's golf wear but it's now starting to change. Fortunately, most of the designers are beginning to craft a new variety of designs with women identities in mind because of an increasingly amount of female players to the sport.

When it comes to dressing in general ladies prefer that the whole outfit is well coordinated with matching pieces and accessories. When it comes to golf (or any sport for that matter) it is essential that the clothes not only look good but are also comfortable to play in. For golfers in particular, of both genders, they find this sport to be engrossing and rewarding in spending their free time. Luckily as golfing becomes more and more popular for women it becomes easier to find functional, stylish and comfortable golf outfits.

With the festive season underway it is now your job to find those practical golf gifts to give to your loved ones. If you're looking for something incredibly comfortable and partly traditional but trendy, there are a variety of choices for gifts.

For women in particular, there are a selection of clothing items that are essential such as knits, polos, and accessories which can be mixed and matched to create a number of different outfits. For superb quality and versatility, then Lyle and Scott provide a conventional collection of authentic garments for both men and women under their 'Golf' Range.

From this range you may find a number of presents such as a women's tunic style sweater which is made of silk and cashmere with two shades of silver grey and pink mist could be one of your choices. Another is women's tunic style cardigan with same fabric and shades as the first one. The only difference, the initial clothes is V-neck while the latter is a round neck cut. Aside from the two given designs, women slipover is available. The fabric is a lamb's wool with 5 different options in terms of shades. These are light stone, black, navy, pale blue, and salad green.

On the other hand, if you want polos, there is also a variety of women's golf polo shirts and women's long sleeve shirts. These are mostly cotton and cotton pique. There are varieties of shades to choose from. For the latter, metallic dark grey, black, lilac, navy, pink mist, and white are the available while damson purple, deep red, light stone beige, navy, pink mist, surf blue, and white for the first.

For accessories, women's baseball cap and visor are also on the list. Both are made up of cotton twill and shaded black. Both practical and stylish make such gifts the best choice of women golfers this season and your Christmas priceless.

For more golf wear designs and golf clothing this holiday season, you can have it over at the website of Lyle and Scott.

Top tips for staying warm and comfortable in the best performance bicycle clothing

Many people ask me what the secret is to comfortable padding, and the answer is not as you might think, in quantity but in quality. The padding in our men's shorts is contoured for a good fit, and perforated to help keep you cool. These days the padding is made from a special fabric which looks similar to the old fashioned 'chamois' leather, but is actually synthetic, with quick drying properties for better comfort, and easy to wash and care for. Women's padding is CD Special Soft Seamless padding, which molds to your shape as you sit upon your saddle, and has been found to be the best solution for comfortable cycling for very many women.

Cycling shorts, padded underwear and cycle tights must be snug enough to hold the padding snuggly in place so that it doesn't move about. If shorts are too loose the padding will shuffle about with the pedaling action, and either crease or move out of position. Either will cause chafing and make you sore.

In the summer when the weather is warm and comfortable (!) a top can be a loosish fit which suits most people. It doesn't want to be too loose or it will flap about in the breeze. However, in the winter, close fitting layers will give much better insulation, and prevent cold air from 'flushing' down the inside of the garment.

Wearing a combination of thin layers works very well towards keeping your body comfortable whilst exercising. The reason for this is that it is much easier to adjust the total amount of warmth you get from your clothing if you can add or remove one thin layer at a time to get the optimum insulation. For this reason most of our clothing is moderately light weight, and when used in various different combinations will ensure your best comfort and therefore a more enjoyable ride.

Your wrists are a vitally important part of your body to protect from cold.

Keeping them warm will go a long way to keeping your hands warm & comfortable, and indeed the rest of your body. For this reason our long sleeve tops and jackets have very generous cuffs, with a double layer of fabric. This helps to ensure your best comfort and therefore a more enjoyable ride.

The special fabrics used for performance sportswear, and particularly chosen for our cycle range, have a technical property called 'Wicking'. This means moisture (seat) is absorbed by the inside of the fabric, and transferred to the outside surface where it will quickly evaporate. This means the garment dries out quickly, and you the wear stay more comfortable. Such fabrics also tend to stay relatively warm whilst they are damp.

What is the best way to care our Performance CycleWear? The happy answer is: 'The easy way'. It is my firm belief that sportswear must be easy to care for, so all our soft fabrics can machine washed, spun, tumbled and or line dried. They need no special treatments, and no special washing powders. Just use your normal coloured's powder or liquid, the clothing responds quite happily.

One last point though: Do Not Use Fabric Conditioners! These make fabrics more water absorbent, and with our high wicking, quick drying fabrics, we are trying to make the garments as water un-absorbent as possible. (This applies to all sportswear)

So there you have it!

Corinne Dennis is a long standing expert in the comforts of high performance cycle clothing.
