Do you play a mean game of golf (or do you just wish you did)? You may have your own favorite fairway, of course, but one of the great places to try playing your game in a new setting is in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Myrtle Beach, known as the "golf city of the world," has miles and miles of lush green fairway for you to try your hand on.

The Myrtle Beach area has about 120 different golf courses within about a 60-mile spread. Myrtle Beach boasts both golf courses and great beach areas. In fact, if you visit Myrtle Beach, you'll be one of at least 14 million individuals in a given year who visit the area. Those who are golf enthusiasts say that the greens and courses are challenging and can be a great learning experience if you play the game. Architects have designed and landscaped the layouts of the various golf courses in Myrtle Beach to be beautiful as well as functional. Tournaments, too, are played in Myrtle Beach at one of its many beautiful golf courses. There are also golfing exhibitions for charity held here.

One recent study concluded that Myrtle Beach was among the top golf course meccas. It's gotten five out of five stars, not surprising when you consider that it very clearly caters to the golf world.

If you're still not certain, look for testimonials online from those who have played at Myrtle Beach's golf courses. You can see for yourself just how wonderful they are before you actually take the time to go there and play yourself. If golf isn't your thing (or if you've already played a great game and want to do something else), Myrtle Beach has many attractions that are family oriented, too. These are conveniently located around the courses so that you don't have to go far. Watch the boats on the water, surf, or just sunbathe on the beach. Of course, the fun doesn't stop there, and there are many more things you can do at Myrtle Beach, too.

In addition, Myrtle Beach has something for everyone in its dining experiences, attractions, and shops. If you decide to vacation here, you won't be disappointed. Your visit will give you fond memories for years to come.

Myrtle Beach also has a flair for resort and hotel living, as evidenced by the many fine accommodations available. If you bring your family to Myrtle Beach, kids, too, can find something to do. There are attractions that are suitable for the whole family, not just for grown-ups or for those who love to golf.

If you'd like to come to Myrtle Beach, contact a travel agency in your area or surf the web to take a look at many of the package deals available. Some websites or package deals are geared more for golf lovers, while others appeal to a broader audience. Myrtle Beach also has many places available so that you can rent or buy golf equipment here if you don't bring your own.

Of course, it has a definite attraction to golfers, but Myrtle Beach is also host to many events for those who don't golf, too. It has beautiful scenery, posh accommodations, and many events that attract visitors worldwide. This is true whether they love to golf or would prefer to do something else. So give Myrtle Beach a try, and see for yourself.

by Golf Buddy

There must be a zillion ways to improve your golf score but I noticed a few things all good golfers do but bad golfers seldom do.

So many people buy new golf gear year after year, but they soon realize that it doesn't help much no matter how many times they change their driver!

The more educated believe that having a great swing is key to a low score. They usually laugh at the people that buy equipment, but these golfers spend money on lessons, practicing, practicing and practicing.

The ultra addicted always practice their short game. It might be the best method but it's ultra hard to do because it takes so much time! Practice, hitting ball after ball after ball will become routine if you fall under this category.

Check these tips because these are very simple to implement.

1. Glove - Changing your gloves as much as you can afford to is essential for a good game. Once it starts slipping, then bye bye good ball striking.

2. Spikes - Once you get new spikes, you will see that it is a no-brainer because you no longer slip and lose your balance when you swing. This is especially important during the course where you are on uneven lies!

3. Tees - When I hit my tee shots, I want the ball to hit the sweet spot of the club face every time. Having the same tee height is the only way I can do this (apart from having a repeatable swing).

4. Hydration - In the early days of my golfing career, I would play well and then lose the edge towards the end of the round. After a while of this frustration, I read somewhere that keeping myself hydrated will help me sustain my energy and focus. This means drinking water, Gatorade or some type of liquids throughout the round. Nowadays, it wouldn't be uncommon for me to drink 2-3 bottles of water during an 18-hole round. 4-6 strokes saved

5. Warm up - I still don't spend enough time on warm up but I noticed that sometimes it takes me 1-2 holes just to get relaxed and able to swing freely. This is all due to not having enough warm up. Warming up also helps relaxes your mind and enables you to make adjustments to compensate for the way balls are flying. More importantly, warming up reduces injuries! 1-3 strokes saved

6. Eat Light - Heavy eating is a no-no on the course. You end up losing focus after a big meal so it's hard to pick and execute the right shots. Eating something light is great for your score.

A proper golf swing is the cornerstone to having a great golf game. The best way to improve your swing is to practice with one of the popular training aids that are available. They assist you in implementing proper form so that you are reinforcing the correct technique.

Hard work and constant practice are absolutely necessary for those of us who are not born with natural golf ability. Fortunately with relentless practice you can improve to the point you want to. You just need to persevere and not give up before you have given yourself a chance to succeed.

No two golf swing training aids are designed exactly alike. They are all constructed differently to target varying components of the swing. Be it a DVD or a practice club your swing will be worked on in a unique manner for ultimate improvement.

As not all training aids are created equal, neither is the method by which the seek to improve your swing. Some will give immediate feedback on what went wrong while others are not instant. Regardless they all aim to identify your problem and advise you of the proper technique to use instead.

It is difficult to evaluate your swing as your are swinging. For this reason, many people will set up a video camera and fill their technique. Then they can critique it later and fine tune the process to weed out any weak areas.

Don't disregard the value of taking a few golf lessons. While they do cost a bit, the investment in your swing is worth it. A live instructor can help you to make sweeping changes to things that you don't even realize you may be doing wrong. How else can you identify and fix these problems?

Unless you were born with the name Tiger Woods, your golf ability is probably short of what you desire. This is why golf swing training aids were created. Evaluate what it is you want to improve and then measure that against what the various products offer. Once you match up complimentary purposes you will be on your way to achieving your goals. See you on the links.

by Golf Fan

Buying your first set of golf clubs can seem quite daunting with all the choices out there. To take away some of the confusion I have listed some things to keep in mind before you go out to get your first set of golf clubs.

Be Clear About Your Golf Goals. If you have realistic goals before you set out to buy, it will make the process of buying clubs much easier. If you're deeply committed to golf and plan to play every day, then obviously you'll want to spend more time, money and effort on a set of clubs than if you only intend to play twice a year with your brother-in-law.

Assessing Your Levels of Interest and Dedication. By honestly assessing your dedication to golf, you can more easily determine how much you want to spend and on what quality of clubs. How much will you be practicing? Will you be willing to take lessons? If you aren't willing to go that far, then you're probably better off going with a cheaper pair of clubs. If you plan to practice regularly, and take lessons, then you may want something more expensive.

New or Used Clubs? Used clubs are probably a good choice if you aren't sure about your commitment or have a history of taking up hobbies and losing interest in them after a short time. They will be cheaper than new clubs and they can be replaced more easily later.

Shaft Options - The Basics. The two differences in golf shafts that beginners should keep in mind are shaft composition (steel or graphitel) and shaft flex (the amount of bend in the shaft during your swing). Steel is sturdier and cheaper, but graphite is lighter, so it will generate more swing speed. Women and older players will benefit most from graphite shafts that have a softer flex. Stronger, younger men may go with regular or stiffer shafts. Remember that many teaching say too many golfers use shafts with too much stiffness. If you'd like to get more details about proper shaft selection consider getting the Golf Beginners Guide, a 272 page ebook created especially for the novice golfer.

Getting a Clubfitting. If you're getting a new set of clubs, a clubfitting is an option. A clubfitting, lasting about half an hour, is an option offered by many teaching pros. If you do not want that, at least getting a measurement in a pro shop will ensure that the clubs you choose are well-suited to your body. If you are a 5-foot-10 male, then the standard clubs straight off the rack will fit you. You might want to get fitted if that description doesn't fit you.

Easier Golf with the Right Clubs. Nothing will take the place of a good swing, but as a novice golfer you can make it easier on yourself by choosing clubs that are designed specifically for higher-handicappers - known as "game improvement clubs". You should choose irons that are cavity-backed and perimeter-weighted. Investigate "hybrid" sets, in which utility clubs replace the long irons - that is, the 3-, 4- and occasionally 5-irons. Go for more loft (i.e. 12 degrees), not less, when choosing a driver. Don't pay attention to what kind of clubs Tour players use.

Seek Advice, Ask Questions. If you have friends who play, ask them for advice. Ask at a pro shop or golf pro for recommendations. Get some idea of what you are really looking for. When you've done all this, and you're ready to buy, remember to shop around. Range and price will always differ from one outlet to another, whether you're shopping at pro shops, department stores, or garage sales. Just keep in mind your price range and only buy clubs within that range.

Golf putting is a kind of an art, not every golfer can putt perfectly. If you work you're putting techniques more than you work with your golf swing, you will start save strokes. Golf putting is a matter of feeling. What do you feel?

Golf putting is nearly the half of the golf game. So it makes sense for you to work more with your putting stroke? The put stroke is much about feeling, but there is also some technique involve, about the feeling you have the pace of the stroke, is it going down hill, or a up hill put , reading the fall in the green and the grain in the grass.

Grain on the grass should give more resistance, therefore a less feet distance and the ball will stop. Striking the ball with the grain there is less resistance, and the ball will move faster.

About the techniques there is quite a lot different way's of putting technique, but a quick golf tip is to keep the putter head square on the line to the hole in impact, and keep your eyes steady on the ball also after you have hit the ball true all the swing. All these thinks are important, and when done properly, they become into one "feel".

Golf putting is a very important part of golf play. Don't think about t to read the green until you become good with the pace of the ball to the right distance.

Golf putting can be a big frustrating of a golfers game. If he has a good golf putting ability, he can finish he's game well. Golf putting is just a series of individual skills like pitching and chipping but until you get the skills in place, putting can be a very frustrating.

Putting is its oven game in the play that only few golfer's truly is good at. It's where five feet can feel like 210 yards and the good days and bad days are separated by 5-15 strokes.

Putting is its own. It's more sensory, tactile, than any other golf stroke. Its round feel, stroke, speed and distance. Putting is more than just hitting on a straight line; it is a serious part of feel and technique. Golf putting can create more trouble for you than good is.

If you're a normal golfer, you have been on the hunt for your best golf putting. Overall, investing in putting lessons will greatly improve your putting and your golf game.
