Space Optical Tube ok but Finder Scope what is it?
I got a finder scope together with my optical tube but what is this piece of material ? I tried to see through it and I see things the up side down. It has a red cross-hair if you activate it.
Why Do I see things the up side down with finder scope?
All telescopes invert the images they show. Normally astronomers prefer this to the extra optics needed to erect the image. Your main telescope probably has a diagonal prism installed which erects the image, but leaves it mirror-reversed left to right. You'll get used to it...everyone else has!
The finder scope is a low-power wide-field scope to help you locate objects with the main scope, which typically will have a very narrow field of view because of its magnification.
I hope we succeeded in convincing you to buy a good solid mount for this telescope. There's no way a telescope with the weight and magnification of this scope can be used successfully on a camera tripod.

Crappie a game fish that draws serious anglers
The weather last week was something, I guess it was a prime example of the global warming that a dying minority still hangs on to. I was forced to go outside once during that bitter cold and take care of some business and if this is the weather pattern continues I have a bad feeling that I may be delving into the fine art of ice fishing because good old Lake Conroe will surely be freezing over.
