Winter Musings: No discontent this winter for sledders
A distinctive landscape is southwestern Pennsylvania -- the countless valleys form deep fissures into a fantastically wrinkled topography, crazily crossed with precipitous streets and houses anchored wildly to hillsides, and there's hardly a flat driveway to be found.

One thing you will find that many people do when they work from home is try something new. Maybe they hate the career choice they've made or they need a new chapter in their life, but whatever the case may be it's a new adventure. Unfortunately the time it takes to learn about the ins and outs regarding you new business could be massive.
This is why many people utilize their computer and laptop to work online, but while using a particular skill set. If you want to work with something you enjoy, try doing so with one of your hobbies. Like today we're going to pretend you enjoy the game of golf. It's something both genders do avidly, so this way it's easier to understand for each party.
The Initial Decision
So golf is your passion and when you're not hard at work or taking care of the family, a couple hours at the range or a day on the course is relaxing. You've been doing it for years and now you want to share your expertise with the world. Obviously the first place you go to is the Internet. So how are you going to translate your experience to others?
This is the initial decision, and it revolves around whether you will build your own website, start a blog, or even create your own information product like an ebook. Once you figure it out, the next step is to figure out how you are going to make money from it.
Setting it Up
When you look online you notice there is tons of competition regarding golf. So, instead of hitting all the others head on, you have to come up with a way to attract people to a particular area. This is the setup area. The idea is to narrow down what you want to talk about, and build your expertise around it.
A good example of this for a golfer may be to teach others about working out of a bunker. It's something that several people cover, but not something that they focus on. For instance; how to hit out of the sand when it's raining. Maybe how to hit from the bunker to a green that is running downhill. This is something you can do all day long because there are several different scenarios.
How to Make the Money
Now, sticking with the bunker or sand trap theory, you can write an ebook on it and sell it on the Internet. However, if that seems like a lot of work, maybe you would rather promote a particular sand wedge that just came out. If you have a website it can be your main focus, and you can use those "how to" informational articles as either content for your website, or promotional strategies.
If you have a blog, maybe you just want to monetize it with affiliate programs and promote other people's information products on places like Clickbank. Whatever you decide, you can earn money several different ways. Unfortunately, unless you know how to build traffic and promote your site, it's going to be tough.
How to Promote and be a Success
You can easily promote by joining forums that allow signature links in their posts, social networks like Twitter and Facebook, or utilize articles, videos, and emails to do the work for you. We understand this might take some time to learn, but it's a necessity for your success.
What it comes down to you can build your online business around any skill set you have gained over the years. It can be about golf, scrap-booking, gardening, youth baseball, gold, video games, cell phones, tennis shoes or whatever your heart desires. All you have to do is take advantage of that laptop or computer you have at home.
