It is definitely a good idea to use a David Oscarson fountain pen at school. First and foremost you have to make sure that the ink you use is not the wet kind. Choose an ink that dries fast. The paper you write on also makes a lot of difference and some which are glossy have a very poor absorption rate. You should also avoid choosing a David Oscarson pen with a broad nib as the writing from it takes longer to dry as compared to that from a fine nib.
A David Oscarson fountain pen is definitely a lot less troublesome than the ballpoint pens or roller balls. Gel pens are also quite good but then you run the risk of ink smearing.
