why wear cap or hat to the left or right?

My question is really asking whether there is any significance why you would wear your hat to either slighty left rather then slightly right or vice versa, or is it just a style thing???
Because most people I see (who do this) wear their cap tilted to the right, is this just coincidence?

Perhaps they don't want to get sun burnt cheeks rather than a sun burnt nose.

I think its just a style people have created over time.. I guess the tilted hat looks more casual and alternative. its usually teenagers that do this, and in primary school we are taught to wear our hats forward. I guess wearing the hat to one side is just another way to rebel against society.

The Working Man

Perhaps you work outside and need to keep your head warm during the chilly months. The best way to do that is to wear a hat to help contract your body heat.
