Where can I get "motorcycle gloves" (leather gloves)?
Similar to these...(preferably in women's gloves, but if men's gloves fit me, I'll take 'em).

I prefer to try them on in person to see if they have snug fit, therefore I don't want to order from the web. I live in NYC (if you have any particular store in mind I could go to out here).

In the 1820's a garment called the English topcoat became an important change in the apparel of smart men and to which mens leather coats owe their popularity.
From the trench style to leather jackets, these garments continue their popularity with men all over the globe. Prices have changed from five to twenty dollars in the 1800's to over a thousand dollars today for a designer made custom garment.
Today men have a choice of either a single breasted or double breasted. Coats for men come in assorted leathers such as lambskin, buckskin, and kidskin to name a few. Not only can he choose from a range of designs and finishes, but he can also choose to go vintage, traditional, or contemporary.
This style of garment has always been and is still considered the apparel of elegance and is still an important part of the wardrobe of the man that wants to impress.
For a short while between the 1800's and the early 1900's there was a down turn in the popularity of the mens leather coats. However with the advent of the automobile it had its resurgence. The overcoat, boots, goggles, scarf and gloves became the standard apparel for the man that owned an automobile. This outfit was the predecessor of today's motorcycle jacket.
Hollywood did not waste time and jumped on the band wagon having their good guys and bad guys alike all outfitted in leather.
Soon more new designs appeared on the scene, with styles such as pea coats, motorcycle jackets, flight jackets and more. History and Hollywood state that mens leather coats were worn by heroes on the battle fields and on the screen.
