What causes red blood cells to be small?
I was told by a doctor that I have small red blood cells, and I was wondering what causes this to happen. I was throwing up in the morning, but I am not pregnant, and I can eat food, but I get full very easily. The main thing that I have been drinking is water, and I was wondering if I can drink other things than water.
I don't have sicle cell anemia, or celicac desiease. My pancerase works fine. My red blood cells are just smalls.
Microcytes can be caused by ineffective iron utilization or absorption, or by decreased or defective hemoglobin synthesis. They're most commonly seen in iron deficiency anemia, thalassemias (inherited conditions with more unusual characteristics than just small cells), or anemia of chronic disease.
Given that you are female, it is likely due to either low iron intake or (monthly) blood loss.

Ringworm is a common fungal infestation that can affect people and animals.Caused by organisms called dermatophytes, ringworm can infect the skin, hair, nails and feet. You will know that you have ringworm of the skin if you develop a rash that looks red and patchy then develops into multiple red rings that may be scaly or itchy.
Ringworm can be avoided if you keep your skin dry and healthy. Do not come in direct physical touch of people or animals suffering fungal skin infections. You can keep the causes of ringworm at bay by regularly airing your locker and keeping your skin covered from constant dampness. Still, if you are infected from some unknown source, you can try some ringworm home remedies and regularly wash the articles of your daily use.
The symptom of ringworm of the scalp is very similar to dandruff. In fact, some people think that what they have is dandruff, when in fact they are already suffering from ringworm. Flaking is common for this type of ringworm. Sometimes, hair loss in the affected area is also inevitable.If you have ringworm of the nails, you will notice the thickening of your nail. You will also see whitish substance developing in your nail bed.
Ringworm of the scalp mostly occurs in children, but the disease can be developed by adults as well. Ringworm of the scalp is contagious and the fungal organisms responsible for causing the disease can be contracted either directly, through physical contact with contaminated people or animals, or indirectly, through physical contact with contaminated objects.
While ringworm on the scalp is fairly common, on the body is even more so. Up to 30% of the population is at risk in getting this type of fungus. What is the cure for ringworm on the body? Left untreated there is a chance that it will heal on its own, although this is not commonplace. Most of the time it will require some form of treatment in order to heal up. Some of the name brands containing these ingredients are Lotrimin, Micatin, Monistat and Mycelex. It is advisable to continue treating the area up to a week after it is cleared up.
Children often interact with infested animals or enter in contact with contaminated objects and hence they can easily contract the fungal elements that cause ringworm of the scalp. Ringworm shows up as a red rash about the size of a silver dollar. Basically, it's a harmless skin condition if treated with common over the counter treatments for ringworm.
You can catch the fungus that causes ringworm in a variety of ways. Having direct contact with someone who is already infected is one way, as well as loving on your pet who has ringworm. Yes, your pets can easily get ringworm and then pass it on to you as you pet them and love on them.
Ringworm of the scalp usually begins as a small pimple which becomes larger in size and leaves scaly patches of temporary baldness. Infected hairs become brittle and break off easily. Occasionally, yellowish cuplike crusty areas are seen. With ringworm of the nails, the affected nails become thicker, discolored and brittle, or they become chalky and disintegrate.
