which do you prefer, callaway x-22 irons or taylormade burner plus irons.?

i hit both of them today compared to my irons. i only hit the 7 iron for all of them. i hit my 7 iron about 145, i hit the x-22 about 175 consistently and tops out at 184. i hit the burner plus around 150 to 160 consistently and topped out at 181. my 7 iron topped out at 155. AND YES I REALLY HIT THESE CLUBS THIS FAR SO PLEASE DONT SAY IM LYING CUZ IM NOT
i used a launch monitor and they were both about the same on accuracy.

Based on distance I'd presume you would be leaning towards the X-22's......Next question to determine is which were the most accurate?

Was this test done on a launch monitor or on a range? just curious

Most golfers enjoy hitting that "long ball" off the tee that lands in the middle of the fairway. It may get us a chest bump from our friends, boosts our confidence and looks very impressive. If you visit your local driving range you will notice that the majority of the people are hitting their driver almost exclusively.  

While I do not believe that any one part of the game is any more important than the other, I can see why people concentrate so much of their energy on the tee shot. The general mindset is trying to get a good tee shot to set up the rest of the hole. If you are sitting in the fairway after your tee shot it makes things much easier and gives more room for error. Unfortunately, with so much concentration on the long irons and woods we often let our short game slip.

Your short game will either make you or break you on the golf course. It doesn't matter if you put a drive out there 300 yards if you are unable to get it up and down. Putting more time and effort into sharpening our short game skills will do nothing but improve our game. The hard truth is the weekend golfer will be faced with some type of chip shot on most holes. If you have been focusing the majority of your time on your tee shot, you will quickly turn that birdie or par opportunity into a bogey putt.

The joy about the short game is it can be practiced at home. You only need a large enough area to chip the ball and a bag of shag balls to practice with. I would suggest investing in a chipping net as this gives you a very specific target to aim at.

In summation, if you work on your short game it will improve your score. By improving your chipping you will have the skills necessary to get you out of the tough situations when you tee shot goes south. Chipping nets are available from a number of vendors and are really inexpensive when compared to the improvement you will see in your game.
