A 35+ year old .250 hitter that strikes out too much, that's what they'd have if they signed Bay fr 5 years... Bay will be worse than Cameron in three years.

I dunno, maybe they want him to be the 4th outfielder, he can play CF. Sox love OBP. Cameron is pretty good at 340 fr his career. 3 gold gloves. The defense is certainly the selling point here... he is also pretty darn good at not GIDP... which has been a very frustrating problem fr the Red Sox lately. Cameron if he comes is gonna be part of an outfield platoon, they are figuring out what they need and may make a big move at the trade deadline if they can convince Cameron that he's 4th guy at this stage and a ring would be sweet...

I don't think they are gonna get either Gonzales or Cabrera right now... maybe Jed Hoyer moves Gonzales in the future but its gonna be tough, Jed knows exactly what's in the Red Sox farm system, he also weaseled (and I mean weaseled) away the Red Sox scouting director to go to SD with him too, so they are not gonna get ripped off if they deal with Boston, which is the likely trading partner fr this reason and also b/c Adrian is perfect for Fenway (and next year is a big contract year fr the Red Sox, V-Mart, Beck, Papi, and Pap all need to be dealt with and they all aren't coming back).
