which one is better :graphite or steel shaft?
I am a new player and want to know which is better:graphite or steel shaft?
The previous answer is mostly correct but Id like to add that it depends more on your swing speed. If you have a fast swing, you will need to use steel because you wont be able to get the club head square at impact with graphite. If your swing speed is lower, than the graphite will help raise your trajectory and square you club face, giving you more distance and accuracy. Your swing speed needs to be determined by a proper launch monitor, not by someone eyeballing it. Your best bet would be to go to a professional shop and get fitted. Most shops will do it for free when you buy a new set of irons. There is a lot more to buying irons other than shaft material.
