Rescue Hybrid
The Supreme Court's gift to big business
So much for the demise of corporate America, at least in the popular imagination. Just a little while ago, we were petrified about the auto companies in Detroit and the larger manufacturing infrastructure.

Hybrid golf clubs have gained popularity with both professional and casual golfers alike. These types of clubs can be used for various types of situations on the golf course. They are sometimes referred to the "rescue" clubs because they are known for getting their golfers out of sticky situations. The overall design was made to launch the golf ball long distances and get out of tough fairway. Hybrid golf clubs have unique characteristics in such that they have all the advantages and weight of an iron club, but still act in nature of a wood club.

They were first introduced in the late 1990's, and since then, have had some modification to make them more efficient for all types of golfers. Callaway, TaylorMade, Cleveland, and Adam's, plus many others, now offer hybrid clubs that are rather inexpensive. This means for golfers everywhere that they can improve their game for a decent price.

In terms of aesthetics, there are some outward physical differences between hybrid golf clubs and regular clubs. The shaft of a hybrid club is the same as the shaft of an iron club. The typical wood shaft is 1/16 of an inch less thick than that of an iron or hybrid. It also is about the length of a shortened 5 wood. Each manufacturer has different standards on length and each golfer should figure out which size and club suits them best. They can either graphite or steel shafts. The graphite is more prevalent, but steel has some benefits to hybrid clubs. Steel shafts are cheaper and offer better control. However, graphite ones are lighter and help golfers increase their speed.

Overall, the word "hybrid" in golf means a beautiful marriage of all the things to make a perfect golf club. The way a golfer plays was reinvented by this marriage. Hybrids are considered an "in between" club for golfers. They provide the ideal distance for a swing while offering the same great option of allowing the golfer to choose the degree of the swing. Thanks to this new advancement in golf equipment technology the game of golf has a brand new perspective for new players. They are able to compete in a fashion that they couldn't before and improve their game by leaps and bounds. A hybrid golf club is a piece of equipment that every golfer, no matter the experience level, should have in his or her collection.
