Does anyone own a set of Nickent hybrid irons?
Specifically the 3dx rc? Are they any good? It appears they are a lot cheaper than other sets of iron-hybrids. Or would I be be better off with the Callway big berthas or Cobra Transition-S sets?

I do! Huhu. The 2006 model (pretty much the same as the 2008 model). They are absolutely amazing for the price I payed (250 on ebay). I got steel shafts and now my shots go as far as tiger woods. Literally. No joke I can hit the 6 iron 225 (my old set I hit 180) . This is because the new club design which changes distances by 20-40 yards per club. The 5 iron is more like a 3 iron in loft but it hits farther actually.
Anyway the clubs are very forgiving and easy to hit. So forgiving that it is really hard to consistently fade or draw the ball but I don't mind. Also I love what they did with the lower irons with adding the 10 iron. It evens out the distance gaps which turns out to be the greatest attribute of these irons. Also the hybrids are really fun to hit and great clubs but the 3 iron goes about as far as my 5 wood or farther.
But overall for the price on these clubs they are extremely worth it. If you are more concerned with distance, accuracy, and feel, I would go with the Nickents. But realize these are not typical irons and will not hit like normal clubs (that is they hit farther). I love them after being extremely skeptical. If you want clubs that hit just the same as all the others but are more forgiving get the callaways or cobras. Lastly, you may want to consider getting the 2006 model considering they're less expensive and it looks like they are pretty much the same club. That is if price is important to you. These are great clubs weather you are a big hitter or have a slow swing.
