wedge, fairway wood, irons, hybrids, putter and drivers in the golf world today?
I am on my second set of clubs and i would like to make a custom set this time. I would like a Affordable set but nice qualtiy. what is your guys input to the best best/ affordable to get? i am about to make my highschool golf team and would some advice on what to purchase. Please help and all will be considered!
Calloway and Adams are both quality golf clubs, but they can be a bit pricey. My first two sets of clubs were Wilson and I just loved them. They are good, quality golf clubs which you would expect from Wilson. They are also very affordable. You can get a complete set for under $400.
You have heard all the hoopla surrounding hybrid golf clubs for the last couple of years. You watch the pros on television and see that even they are using hybrids. You find yourself wondering if you should make the switch too, but the question that you keep coming back to is, how do you play hybrid golf clubs, and how will they impact my golf score?
Let's talk first about how to play these clubs. Basically you should be playing your hybrid golf clubs the same way as you play your long irons. The thing you should not do is play these clubs like you play your fairway woods. if you make this common mistake you will likely not get the results you should. Of course, if you are swinging your long irons wrong, then applying that swing to your hybrids will not result in improvement.
The way you should be hit both long irons and hybrid golf clubs is to be sure you hit the ball with a descending blow, not an upward sweeping motion like you do with a fairway wood. It is really that simple. Place the ball in the middle of your stance and take your long iron swing, impacting the ball on the way down.
Once you are using the proper swing, you will begin to see the benefits of the hybrids. First of all, you will likely find that you can take less club from what were certain long iron distances. For example, let's say you have 180 yards to the green, and you would normally hit a 4 iron. In this situation the obvious thing would be to hit a hybrid 4 iron. But, chances are you can hit a hybrid 4 instead. The benefit of this is that you are hitting a shorter club and should have a better chance of making a good swing and having a good result.
The biggest benefit with hybrids is what happens when you put a poor swing on the ball. With a long iron, a poor swing will likely result in the ball going either long or short in addition to right or left. With a hybrid golf club, you may still hit the ball short, or even long, but you will probably at least hit the ball straight. This is because the hybrid head will not stick in the ground if you hit the ball fat. The head is wide and more forgiving and will bounce off the ground rather than sticking into it. The natural loft on the club head will still get your ball in the air and more often than not it will go straight.
When you are ready to make the switch to hybrids, be sure to visit the author's hybrid golf guide [http://playhybridgolfclubs.com/guide].
