The Importance of Balance on your Golf Swing

Mastering the art of the golf swing could be complicated and challenging, and you are most probably trying to improve yours. There are a couple of very simple errors in balance that most people make but can easily be avoided. Here are two simple tips on improving your balance and golf swing, as well as correct the basic slip-ups that you could be doing.
1. A Good Setup, A Good Balance, A Good Swing
A good tip for improving your lank" href="http://www.caddydaddygolf.com/golf_gift_sets.htm">golf swing would be improving your setup. A lot of golfers do not have a good balance because they started off from a bad setup. If you have a good and solid setup, you would be able to keep balanced as you swing. Maintaining your balance would give you a solid swing plane as well as a good pivot. Make sure keep your whole body under control during your setup so you could improve your balance and swing.
2. Swinging Too Hard
Although having great distance is essential, having perfect control of your swing is equally important. What usually happens is since you want distance, you give your all you can when you swing. This causes you to wheel around and lose your balance, as you swing too hard. What you would need to do is trust your club. It is already designed to send the ball to great lengths so you would need to focus on making your swing as solid, as steady and as balanced as possible to stay in the fairway.

Thank you for your comments.
Moe’s childhood trauma likely lead to his autistic like traits, one of which was an obsessive -compulsive behavior. He was obsessed with golf, and practiced it incessantly as a teen. He told us he had his move mastered at age 19.

In regards to a trade off of distance using the swing, it simply isn’t the case. It’s all about ideal club movement, and allows your body to produce speed AND accuracy. Many of our students actually increase distance and accuracy.
Thanks again.

ive been playin for years and i have the same exact problem, however instead of trying to fix it I use it to my advantage. Play the hook the right way and it could work just as well.
Aim the ball slightly more to the left when you hit, at first it will feel unnatural but once you see how your ball moves it will make sense. Plus on doglegs right you will have a natural curve that will really help.
I play my hook well but when I want to hit straight I drive with a 4 iron instead of a driver. You get less distance but you get the desired accuracy. I play every week and my average is around 79. You cant argue with results

Yes, you can.

The ONLY consumer cameras that even approach what you want are a few of the higher-end Sony consumer camcorders that have the "smooth slow record" feature. Be advised that even though these camcorders are considered "high definition", when the smooth slow record" feature is invoked, the video quality is degraded (and no longer high definition).

You do realize, that is Tiger’s old swing…He made a dramatic swing change for a reason.

Interesting theory, though I’ve never seen anyone hit the ball with their lower body.

LIKE I DON'T MESS UP MY GOLF PLAYING CRICKET(LOL).
Absolutely not, if you play both sports one will not hinder the other. The mechanics of swinging a baseball bat are very similar to those taught to golfers today and vise-versa. The biggest difference is the angle of attack since the baseball is thrown and the golf ball is stationary. The main thing is, the hardest thing to do, in both hitting baseballs and golf balls is, keeping the eyes on the ball until either the bat or golf club makes contact with the ball.
Hope this helps

hi. take the shoe . right shoe . the shoemaker puts a small piece of plastic . 3 inches long . 3/4 inch hi9gh. at the back of the shoe to the sarch. this causes legs to stay stable, forces right knee to stay stable , and foot connected to rthe ground . it does work. please stay away from shoemakers in a mall just go to a small shop. a very high number of medical staff have the same thing done to thier shoes. when you tell the shoemaker what it is for. he will understand. it is a very simple illegal adjustment . the shoemaker will have you wait . cost under ten bucks. go for a walk before playing with the brace. after two months you could have it removed . there were shoes built this way early 90s . they worked so usga banned them . ken venturi, ben hogan, sam snead and byron nelson to name a few used this method . good luck . sorry spelling eyes screrwed up from cancer hack saw surgery .

Al-
The most important thing in a golf swing is a nice, smooth tempo.
You should always have only one thought in your head while you are swinging, whether it be tempo, weight transfer, straight-left arm, ect.
As far as hitting the ball crisp, a smooth swing should be your #1 priority. When you are practicing, you can even count it out. 1…2…3 on the way back 1…2..3 on the way forward.
Good luck!

The reason I switched to a “single plane” golf swing is Butch Harmon on an interview when Tiger was changing his golf swing. Butch said Tiger was hitting over 1000 balls a day and unless you were doing that you cant hit a pro-golf shot. so I searched for a simpler way and found it, i’m no scratch golfer but I can play less often 3-5 times a year and score under 100 every time. I count every shot and play every lie.

This is a common misconception in the golf swing.
Brian Manzella explains this the best at:
http://www.brianmanzella.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3390
You have to sign up for the forum, its free (the forum has pictures too). But I can summarize. Alot of people hear that at address you should raise your hands and then bend your wrists straight up. This is WRONG!
Try this:
Put the club out in front of you parallel to the ground, toe of the club to the sky. Bend your wrists so that the club swings backwards, but stays parallel to the ground with the toe still facing up to the sky. THIS is the correct wrist hinge you should be after.
Took me years to find this out and once I did – I went from a 15 handicap to a 6.

Hello. Thank you for posting the video:)
I’ve heard all the stories about Moe Norman…And there’s no doubt that he is a legend. I hate to sound mean…But do you think that Moe’s childhood trauma…was, perhaps, the reason why he developed an “unconventional” swing?
Watching your video…I cannot deny the simplicity of your swing theory. But…is there a trade off??? I mean…do you sacrifice distance…for accuracy…with your swing theory?
Nickylizzle on July 20, 2009 at 4:34 pm
The problem here is that it doesnt really matter what swing plane u have. Effective ballstriking is achieved primarily through good lower body control, not how the club is taken back by the hands and arms. If you were to watch all pros, you can easily find that their planes and positions vary, yet their lower body motion and position is largely similar.

Yes, we realize that. Funny that to relieve the stress on his left knee, Tiger now turns his left foot out at setup. Sounds like someone we know….
Thanks for your comments.
